The Red Cross of Japan Writes Back

Dear Jackson Bliss,

First of all, we thank you very much for your expressions of concern and offers of support to the Japanese Red Cross Society.

The Japanese Red Cross Society has started its disaster relief response, however, the whole picture of the situation is not yet clear and the JRCS is continuing its assessment of both the situation and the needs of the people in the affected areas, at the National Headquarters level as well as its local Branch level.

Therefore, we are afraid that JRCS is not accepting any volunteers from inside and outside the country at this stage. The update information will be available on our website: http://www.jrc.or.jp/english/index.html
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies also provides the information on Red Cross responds to this earthquake: http://www.ifrc.org/en/

We would highly appreciate your understanding.

Thanking once again for your kind offer, we remain with best regards.

Yours sincerely,

International Department
Japanese Red Cross Society
