Hip-Hop Bohemia +The Consumer Maze (Shinsaibashi, Amemura + Dōtonbori)

LB + I are exhausted from a day of powerwalking (getting our asses lost) in Osaka, which included buying groceries (+ then dragging our crap around for 9 hours), getting lost in Esaka, walking through Shinsaibashi, a covered outside mall that went on forever like a consumer labyrinth, gazing at chocolates + moshi kits at Daimaru department store, trekking through the bohemian, hip-hop-loving streets of Ame(rica)mura (yes, the only black dudes I've seen in Osaka were both standing in front of a store called Brown Sugar, + yes, that is a statue of liberty). We ate takoyaki + walked past the canals in the busy streets of Dōtonbori, bought English translations of Haruki Murakami novels at the Junkudo bookstore, ending up accidentally in Pachinkoland (aka Namba). Here are some highlights:

I'm exhausted just looking at it. No doubt there's a neighborhood of ICU's you could check into to recover?

rams,

ha! yeah, we went all over the city yesterday, but with the exception of Esaka, everything was right next to each other. still, i'm amazed we weren't more tired, must be the jetleg + the unbelievable confusion of our bodies.

jā, mata!
